LINKEDIN EXPERIENCE CENTRE, LONDON
From creating pockets of interest and setting the right scene for a meeting to picking up textures, working with interactive elements, and adding drama, our lighting scheme is key to the Experience Centre's identity.
LinkedIn's central-London hub is bursting with character across three distinct areas – The Arcade, The Theatre, and The Executive Briefing Centre – where people can collaborate, innovate, and connect in person. The project called for a comprehensive lighting strategy to create layers of visual intrigue, while defining the unique character of each space and supporting their practical functions.
In the reception area, a large Santa & Cole Cirio Circular pendant beautifully fills the space and provides the perfect welcome. From here, a lively, internal ‘street’ – The Arcade – features meeting spots, lush planting, and playful design elements. Lighting accentuates artwork, exposed brickwork, greenery, and the bright, bold exterior of The Theatre. A perforated raft ceiling incorporates lighting details that add drama and ambient illumination, while hanging Muller Van Severen lamps work alongside integrated banquette lighting to create visual interest.
Elevated by the lighting design, The Theatre is the beating heart of the Experience Centre. A striking in-ground line of light wraps around the base of the curved, coral structure and is complemented by high-level, curved track lighting – catching the attention of passers-by outside. Inside the auditorium, a wash of light to the curved timber wall and low-glare, laser-blade lighting within the ceiling provide a discreet and flexible base layer for the specialist AV/theatre lighting configuration.
The lighting scheme in The Executive Briefing Centre reflects a shift in character to a chic, residential-style space. Cove lighting washes the timber verticals, adding depth and warmth, while pendants above soft seating create intimacy. Meeting rooms feature tunable white technology and high colour rendering, creating ideal meeting conditions that users can tailor via a control system to suit the mood.
